Jessa (Duggar) Seewald gives birth to baby boy, was rushed to hospital after experiencing complications during home delivery: report
The former “19 Kids and Counting” star and her husband Ben Seewald welcomed a baby boy Thursday night, the couple confirmed on their website.
The reality star reportedly experienced some complications during the delivery: she was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance after attempting to give birth at her Arkansas home, according to TMZ.
Ben shared a photo of himself with his son on the couple's blog, and while he did not divulge whether his wife had experienced a medical emergency, he assured fans that his son is "precious and both he and Jessa are doing great."
Jessa, 22, and Ben, 20, welcomed their first child just days after they celebrated their first wedding anniversary on Sunday.
The couple have not yet revealed their son’s name, but have shared that he weighs in at a healthy 9 lbs, 11 oz.
In fact, prior to giving birth, Jessa told fans on Instagramthat the Duggar and Seewald families were trying to guess the baby’s weight.
The new mom predicted that she would have a “chubby little baby” because she “was the biggest out of all my siblings” at 9 lbs., 15 oz.
When the couplerevealed they were expecting in April, they said they were “definitely excited" about parenthood.
“We pray every night that God helps us be good parents,” Ben said. “We are getting advice from other parents.”
One set of parents they’ll be seeking advice from is Jessa’s older sister Jill Dillard and her husband Derick, who welcomed their son Israel in April.
Fans can see more of Jill and Jessa on “Counting On,” a series of TLC specials airing in December that will focus on the Duggar daughters’ lives as they start their own families.
