Antonio Gates inactive vs. Raiders

Antonio Gates missed the first four games this season.
Due to injury, he'll miss a fifth Sunday.
The Chargers tight end, dealing with a sprained MCL suffered one week earlier against the Packers, is inactive against the Raiders. Tight end Ladarius Green figures to see a more prominent offensive role. Running back Melvin Gordon (ankle), wide receiver Keenan Allen (hip) and wide receiver Stevie Johnson (hamstring) all are active. They were listed as questionable.
Safety Eric Weddle (groin), inside linebacker Manti Te'o (ankle), center Chris Watt (groin), cornerback Craig Mager (hamstring), outside linebacker Tourek Williams (foot) and tackle Tyreek Burwell (healthy scratch) join Gates as inactive. The left side of the Chargers' starting offensive line is back.
Tackle King Dunlap (concussion) and guard Orlando Franklin (ankle) missed the previous three games.
Despite Gordon being active, Branden Oliver is expected to handle a larger role Sunday. There was some thought this weekend Gordon might be held out entirely for precautionary reasons because of an ankle injury that limited him in practice. With Te'o out, rookie second-round pick Denzel Perryman will make his second straight start.
