How to (sorta) cook a turkey

Many East Central Indiana kitchens will be filled with the aroma of a cooking turkey on Thanksgiving. But if you're still scrambling for some instructions, the students at South View Elementary School are here to help.

The students in Jenna Leach's kindergarten class offered these helpful hints on "How to cook a turkey:"

KeiLeigh: First, you baste the turkey and stuff it with cotton candy. Then, cook it on the grill for 20 minutes. Next, put some sweet stuff on it. Then, take the meat out and cut it up to choppy pieces and pull the feathers out.  Then slice it off and take the eyes off.  Then slice it up and take the ham out and eat it.

Mackenzie: First, you stuff the turkey with bread.  Next, cook it in the oven 1 degree for 2 hours.  Then,  baste the turkey.  Finally, take it out of the oven and eat it.

Alex: First, I would chop the head off. Then, cut the turkey so it is small pieces. Next, cook it in the stove for 2 minutes.  Finally, take the turkey out and eat it.

Dominic: First, you cook it in the microwave for 2 minutes. Then you take it out and eat.

Cameron: First, you get the all the feathers off.  Then, you cook the turkey for two minutes in the oven at very hot.  Next, take it out of the oven.  Finally, you eat it.

Liliana: First, you hunt for the turkey.  Next, you take it home. Then, you cook it on the stove for 4 minutes.  Finally, you eat it.

Ammillia: First, you need to stuff the turkey with crumbs.  Next, you would baste it.  Cook it on the stove for 2 hours. After cooking it you will need to take the feathers off.  Finally you can eat it at Nanna’s house.

ShyLee: First, you put the breading in the turkey.  Then you put it in the oven at 60 degrees for 2 days.  Take the turkey out and eat it.

Alyssa: First, get all the feathers off the turkey. Then, stuff it with water.  Next, taste and eat it.

Nathan: First, you need to baste it.  Then you stuff it with bread.  Next, you cook it in the oven at 20 degrees for 4 minutes and check it.  If it is not done, then wait another 4 or 5 minutes. Then when it is done you take it out and you taste it.  In case it is good, then you get ready and go where you are going to eat and eat it.

Dustin: First, you need to baste the turkey.  Then you need to stuff it with stuffing and some bread. Then you will cook it in the oven for 5 minutes. Get it out of the oven and take all the feathers out. Then take the food out of it or whatever it has in the body. Then it is ready to eat.

Austin: First, take all the feathers off. Then, chop the head off.  Next, stuff it with bread and baste it.  Then, cook it on the stove for 5 seconds.  Then taste it.

Hayden: First, you put water in the turkey.  Next you fry the turkey.  Then you eat the turkey.  Then you are all done.

Braxton: First, pluck all the feathers out.  Then, you cook the turkey by putting him in the very hot oven for 3 minutes.  Next you baste it and stuff it with stuffing.  Then baste it again. Then you baste it again because you want it very tasty.  Next, put it back in the oven at 20 degrees for 380 minutes.  Then baste it again. Take it out of the oven and put more stuffing in it and he is done.

Dalton: First you stuff the turkey with stuffing. Then you will baste it and then you taste it.

Rebecca: First, take the feathers out. Then, Stuff the turkey with stuffing. Then, put it in the oven at 4 degrees for 7 minutes. Next, cut the head off. Finally, it is ready to eat.

Josephene: First, stuff the turkey with stuffing. Next, take out all the feathers. Next, you baste it then you taste it. Then you eat it.

Skylar: First, cook the turkey in the oven at 100 degrees for 21 minutes. Then, you take the turkey out and eat it.

Israel: First, take all the feathers out. Then, baste the turkey and stuff it with bread sticks. Next, you put it in the oven at 100 degrees for 99 minutes. Then, you taste it.
