M.I.A. highlights the refugee crisis in hard-hitting new music video for Borders

Rapper M.I.A. has released a music video which highlights the plight of refugees as they risk their lives trying to find a new home.
The rapper is well-known for her politically-charged music and her new track Borders blasts people’s indifference to the refugee crisis.
The self-directed video shows M.I.A. as she joins a group of refugees as they climb wire fences, travel on cramped boats and wade into the sea.
In one scene, she wears a Paris Saint-Germain soccer shirt, which replaces sponsor Fly Emirates’ logo with ‘Fly Pirates’

She shared the full lyrics on her Twitter page

M.I.A. also dedicated the song to her uncle, thanking him for helping her family leave Sri Lanka so they could have a better life in the UK
