Disney Releases New Spooky Trailer for The BFG Based on Roald Dahl's Children's Book

In Disney's latest teaser trailer for its upcoming live-action film, The BFG, fans get a chilling glimpse at a children's biggest fear come to life—a child-eating giant.
"It was the witching hour when the boogeyman comes out, when people go missing," a female child's voice narrates as shots of eerily quiet streets and children asleep in an orphanage in the middle of the night play out in the nearly two minute clip.
Directed by Steven Spielberg, the film is based off of the character's of Dahl's classic children's tale of the same name, which chronicles the adventures of a little orphan girl named Sophie, the Queen of England, and the Big Friendly Giant—hence the initials BFG—whom embark on a journey to take down the man-eating giants who are swarming the earth.
In 1989, the literary classic was turned into a British made-for-television cartoon film, but this marks the first time we will see the story unfold on the silver screen with live actors.
The cast is set to feature British actor and playwright Mark Rylance, Vicky Cristina Barcelona's Rebecca Hall, Downton Abbey's Penelope Wilton, and Amy Schumer's Trainwreck sidekick Bill Hader as one of the giants.
As Sophie proclaims at the end of the trailer, "That is where our story begins." Unfortunately, we won't learn the fate of Sophie and her Big Friendly Giant until July 1, 2016 when the film debuts in theaters nationwide.
