Yahoo Mail App Adds Gmail Integration

During an October redesign of its email app, Yahoo added support for Microsoft Outlook and AOL Mail. "Yet, something was missing from the list," Yahoo acknowledged today.
That's no longer the case, as Yahoo has added the ability to connect your Gmail and Google Apps account to Yahoo Mail.
"All the features you need and love in Yahoo Mail – powerful search, smart contacts, rich compose features and Yahoo Account Key for password-free sign-in – are now available with Gmail," said Shiv Shankar, a Yahoo Senior Product Manager. "You can now search across your entire history of emails, from day one, for all connected mailboxes! (Not just your most recent emails, which is how it's done in many apps today)."
Multiple mailbox support for Gmail within Yahoo Mail launched on Thursday in the mobile app and on the desktop browser. To connect, visit Account Settings.
Yahoo this week also introduced a new Video Guide app: "Our first step in bringing you an easier, faster way to find and stream your favorite movies and TV shows in the cord-cutting age," Robby Stein, senior director of product management, wrote in a separate blog post.
Search across various services—HBO, Netflix, Amazon, Hulu—to find the latest seasons of television and the summer's blockbuster films. Unsure what to watch? Test the Mood Picker, where you can look for a thriller with a romantic twist or a dark comedy; tap the GIFs that best match your mood, and the service will make recommendations. Then, an in-app playback button directs you to the corresponding service on your phone, where you can start watching immediately.
Yahoo Video Guide is available now to download in the U.S. for free via the App Store and Google Play.
Yahoo-owned Tumblr, meanwhile, is now the first third-party app to support Apple's Live Photos function. In an update to its iOS app, the blogging platform also added 3D Touch for iPhone 6s£544.97 at Laptops Direct owners, while users can also access the new Send-a-Post feature, Paper Plane button, and Messaging.
